Seeking to comfort rather than be comforted

I'm watching Bill and Janet Norwood on Hannity and Colmes right now. The Norwoods are parents of Marine Corps Sergeant Byron Norwood who was killed in the assault on Fallujah. They were singled out by the President at the end of last night's State of the Union Address. Mrs. Norwood says that the reason she wrote to the President was because she knew the responsibilities he bore and wanted to offer him some comfort. (She was also surprised that the President mentioned their names.) I find their selflessness inspiring; that given their loss, their concern is for the President's well-being.

Nice picture here at Powerline.
