It needs to be said

Doug says what everyone else has been thinking. (Or, at least, what I've been thinking.)

POKER IS NOT A TELEVISION SPORT!!!!

Ah, yes. Thank you. That needed to be said.

I don't know what's more pathetic; the fact that someone somewhere pitched this idea to a network exec who said "Great idea!" or the fact that people actually sit in front of their televisions and watch it. There must be someone watching it, because if not, it would have been cancelled long ago.

Unless . . . unless this is simply a kind of stealth infomercial for some Las Vegas casino.

(You know, . . . that might actually be the case.)

I must disagree. Poker is exceedingly fun and exciting. What do you not like about No Limit Texas Hold 'em? Plus, the people who play poker are real characters. It is strangely addictive.
Let everyone else watch Survivor 100 and the CSI empire, I will take Poker any day. But, then again I am also addicted to watching the Food Channel's "Iron Chef", which is competitive cooking. So maybe I am just a sucker for competition.

The Iron Chef is a riot. In a way, it's like the Food Channel version of MST3K.
